    Iced Tea 101

Tea is not just for enjoying hot, and yes, there can be an art to making it. Find out a few tips and tricks to making loose leaf iced and spectacular!

We love our iced tea in the south! In fact, around here, sweet tea (always made with black tea and plenty of sugar!) is known as the 'house wine of the south' or 'nectar of the south'.

We are sharing our favorite ways of making iced tea, though the methods do not mention a sweetener, you are welcome to sweeten you tea with as much or as little as you wish. Traditionally, sweeteners are best added when the tea is still hot. Directions are for an individual 8oz cup, but can be multiplied to incorporate more for sharing.

Our Top Three Iced Tea Methods:

Hot Tea Method 1/2 & 1/2

  • Add 4 oz cool water to steeped tea.

  • Pour over ice and serve.

Regular Brew Method

  • Boil 8oz of spring (or filtered) water.

  • Place 1 tsp. of black loose leaf tea in favorite infuser and steep for 5 minutes.

Additional Tips

We used black tea as our muse in our method instructions, but any tea will work fine, you will just need to adjust the time a temp and a little.

Adding fresh in season fruits, or one of our infused sugars can make an iced tea even more special!
